Learning and behavioural problems

leer en gedragsproblemen

Learning and behavioural problems can show up as difficulty concentrating, restlessness, problems at school, clumsiness, or emotional dysregulation. These complaints occur in children, but also in adults.

Often, the causeis not only in behaviour or motivation, but in the way the brain processes information.

The role of motor skills and brain development

Brain areas involved in movement, balance and timing play an important role in learning and behaviour. When these areas function less well, this can lead to:

  • learning difficulties
  • difficulty planning and organising
  • balance and coordination problems
  • sensitivity to stimuli

Movement forms an important foundation for learning. The brain develops partly through motor stimuli.

Primitive reflexes and development

In young children, primitive reflexes should be present. These normally disappear as the brain matures. When these reflexes remain active, this may indicate a developmental delay.

This can affect:

  • concentration
  • behaviour
  • motor skills
  • self-control

Assessing reflexes provides insight into where development may need support.

Chiropractic approach to learning and behavioural problems

At Chiropractie Blaauw, we look at how the nervous system functions as a whole. Depending on your needs, support may consist of chiropractic care, neurological exercises and training focused on motor skills, balance and sensory processing.

The goal is to support development and improve day-to-day functioning.
